Meet The Doula

A little about me

After I birthed my first baby in 2016, I learned first-hand how challenging the fourth trimester could be. Like so many new parents, I had assumed that parenting would come naturally and that my husband and I would just "figure it out." Breastfeeding issues, severe lack of sleep, postnatal anxiety, and reflux and oral ties for my baby quickly taught me that I needed support.  Lots of it. Thus the seed was planted for this passion! Two more babies, an unplanned cesarean, and a pandemic later, I decided to take the plunge and become a postpartum doula. Parents need a village - we were never meant to do this alone!

My experience

My parenting journey has taken me down so many roads, some planned and others not. I have had two unmedicated births followed by an unplanned cesarean. I have breastfed all of my children, but have also used formula, pumped, and bottle-fed at various points. I worked outside the home as a school teacher for a time before deciding to stay home after my second baby was born. I hope that my varied experiences and choices help prospective clients feel comfortable knowing that I can offer judgement-free support since I have been there before.

We were never meant to do this alone. We were designed to need help. We need our village.
